The Langshan Club of Victoria, since its formation in 2011 has continued to grow and prosper year after year. The entries in the Annual Show come from 5 States of Australia and the numbers have more than doubled reaching in excess of 280 which for a young breed club, is amazing.
The committee is proactive, introducing new classes for Egg Competitions for example, which proved to be extremely popular. They are a large willing, active group of people who are passionate about poultry and keeping the club a happy, enjoyable experience for all members and their families.
I joined the club at the very beginning on 2 July 2011 and can honestly say it is the most rewarding, active club I have ever belonged to.

Everyone knows the weeks leading up to Christmas are crazy. Parties, work break-ups, family dinners, school concerts, catch-up with friends and the list goes on which leaves very few gaps, spaces, days, nights and spare hours for club christmas break-ups. The Langshan Club made an unanimous decision to move our “Christmas Break-up” to early in the new year and rename it as The Annual Get Together.
“Memorable”, “Enjoyable” “Fantastic” “The Best Day Ever”. These are just a few of the comments that followed what turned out to be one of the best decisions the Club has made Members travelled from Longwarry, Clonbinane, Ballarat, Woori Yallock, Badgers Creek, Benalla, Wonthaggi, and many areas in between to make the long journey to San Remo for the day to enjoy the delicious food, excellent wines, and wonderful camaraderie that exists in this Club. Everyone is really looking forward to the Annual Show this year which has become a highlight on all poultry breeders show calendars.
To Michael Grounds and Tina. Your generous and warm hospitality goes unsurpassed. Each year you open your lovely home in San Remo to the Club for The Annual Get Together. THANKYOU!

The 2012 Annual Show held on 7 July was a fantastic success. Exhibitors travelled from as far north as Taree and East Maitland in NSW and from all over Victoria which swelled the numbers from 153 last year to 237 this year. Mr. Warren Schelbach from Warwick in Qld adjudicated at this show and was very impressed with the number of entries and the quality of birds. Brett Batcheldor (Chief Steward), Mark Lee and Hayden Stephens (Show Manager) took all measures to ensure the show went as smoothly as possible and the day went without a hitch.
It was very pleasing to see an excellent number of entries in the Croad classes. 19 Standard and 9 Bantam entries. The largest class numbers were the Australian Langshan Bantam Black Pullets (46) and Bantam Black Cockerels (30). Bird in Show was won by Sonya Ford with her Bantam Black Cockerel and Reserve Bird in Show was J & C Anderson's Standard Black Cockerel..
The club received wonderful support and sponsorship from the following and many thanks go to these organisations and people. - Laucke Mills Stock Feeds, George Norman, Sonya Ford, Copricc Feeds, Michael Grounds, Brett & Elizabeth Batcheldor, Michael & Kathy Holmes, The Langshan Clunb of Australia, Langshan Club of NSW, Burnie Poultry Society (Tas), Kevin Collins, J & K Blair, Max Blair, Deb * Lou Sigmund, The Hague Family, Mike & Coral Jones, Brian Tiyce, Megg Millar.
